This Privacy Policy describes how Sprout Design Private Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates Free AI For That at freeaiforthat.com (the “Service”). We comply with applicable privacy laws including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (“IT Rules 2021”), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) where it applies, and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (“CCPA”) where it applies.

2. What we collect

  • Directory interactions: votes and star ratings you submit, associated with a pseudonymous browser identifier or account token where used.
  • Click analytics: outbound clicks to vendor sites (tool slug, placement, timestamp, coarse referrer) to measure interest and sponsored performance (when you have accepted the Analytics cookie category).
  • Vercel Web Analytics & Speed Insights: aggregate, anonymized pageview and performance data (such as page URL, referrer, approximate country, device and browser type, and Core Web Vitals). These services do not use cookies, do not perform cross-site tracking, and do not create personal profiles. Provided by Vercel Inc. as processor (legitimate interest; not controlled by the cookie banner).
  • Submissions: when you submit a tool for listing, we collect contact details, company or product information, URLs, and payment-related metadata from our checkout provider.
  • Advertising & auctions: advertiser contact information, bid amounts, slot preferences, and billing records processed by our payment partner.
  • Support chat: messages you send through on-site support chat, which may be processed by third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) to generate replies.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies or similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without appropriate consent.

3. How we use data

  • Operate, rank, and display the public directory and sponsored placements.
  • Verify free-plan claims, process listings, and run advertiser auctions.
  • Provide customer support and respond to legal or grievance requests.
  • Secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
  • Improve the Service through aggregated analytics and front-end performance measurement.

Legal bases (GDPR): performance of a contract (listings, ads), legitimate interests (including Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand site usage and performance; security and directory quality), consent where required (non-essential cookies in the banner categories), and legal obligation.

4. Payments & tax

Paid listings (currently $9 USD per submission when checkout is enabled) and sponsored placements are sold through Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record. Dodo Payments collects payment, calculates and remits applicable taxes where required, and provides receipts. We receive transaction confirmations and limited billing contact data from Dodo Payments; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.

5. Sharing & processors

  • Dodo Payments — checkout, tax, and billing.
  • Vercel Inc. — hosting, Vercel Web Analytics, and Speed Insights (aggregate usage and performance data as described above).
  • Database providers (e.g. Supabase) — persistence when configured.
  • AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) — support chat and automated pricing verification when enabled.
  • First-party analytics — click and usage measurement when the Analytics cookie category is accepted, as described in our Cookie Policy.

We do not sell personal information for money. We may share data where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

6. International transfers

We and our processors may process data in India, the United States, the European Economic Area, and other countries. Where GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers outside the EEA.

7. Retention

We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, tax, and dispute resolution requirements. Aggregated analytics may be kept longer in de-identified form.

8. Your rights

India (DPDP Act)

EEA / UK (GDPR)

You may have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents may request access to, deletion of, or correction of personal information, and may opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. Submit requests to hello@freeaiforthat.com.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the nature of the data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
