What we collect
- Votes and ratings: a random voter ID cookie (only with Functional consent) or a salted IP hash, kept 12 months.
- Outbound "Try" clicks: tool slug and time as a cookieless aggregate event; a first-party click count only with Analytics consent.
- Submissions: contact and product details, a salted IP hash and browser user-agent, kept 24 months after the decision.
- AI help chat: messages go to Anthropic to generate a reply; we do not store chat message text on our servers.
- Chat abuse prevention: salted IP-hash rate-limit counters only, deleted after 2 days.
Support chat “unanswered” topics
When support chat cannot answer from our how-it-works docs, it may record an unanswered topic tag from a fixed list (for example ranking, listing, privacy) and a timestamp so we know which docs to improve. We never store the text of your question in that counter.
